This Privacy Policy explains which personal data is processed when you use Certificate Quest, why it is processed and which rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable German law.
1. Data protection contact
Certificate Quest currently publishes under its website name without personal operator details. For privacy enquiries and requests concerning your data, email admin@certificate.quest.
2. Hosting
This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. When the website is accessed, Hostinger processes technical connection and server-log data needed to deliver and protect the service. This can include IP address, date and time, requested URL, referrer, browser, operating system and response status.
Processing is based on our legitimate interest in providing a secure and reliable website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where processing is required to perform a contract or pre-contractual measures, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR also applies. Hostinger acts as a processor where applicable.
3. Security and server logs
We process technical request data to detect misuse, investigate errors and protect the website. Security tools may temporarily evaluate IP addresses and request characteristics to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated attacks. Log data is retained only for as long as required for security, troubleshooting or legal obligations. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
4. Consent management and cookies
We use Complianz to record and respect your privacy choices. Necessary cookies or similar storage may be used to remember those choices. This is required to provide the consent mechanism and document compliance; the legal bases are Article 6(1)(c) and (f) GDPR and Section 25(2) TDDDG.

5. Dackel Analytics
Certificate Quest uses Dackel Analytics, a self-hosted statistics tool. It uses no cookies or local storage and does not transfer visitor analytics to a third-party analytics provider. Processing takes place in this website’s own database.
The tool processes the requested page URL after removing potentially sensitive query values, referrer, browser, operating system and device type, an anonymised IP subnet, approximate location derived locally, time spent, scroll depth and campaign parameters. An anonymous identifier is generated from limited technical characteristics using a secret that rotates daily; it is not intended to identify a named person. Records are deleted automatically after 365 days. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are respected.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in privacy-conscious measurement and improvement of the website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). As no information is stored on or read from your device for this tool, consent under Section 25 TDDDG is not required.
6. Google Analytics
If you consent, this website uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use the website. Depending on your consent and device settings, this may include page views, interactions, approximate location, device, browser and identifiers stored in cookies or comparable technologies.
Google Analytics is activated only on the basis of your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw that consent at any time through “Manage consent”. Google may process data in the United States. Transfers are based, where applicable, on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. 7. Affiliate links
Some outbound links are affiliate links. When you follow one, you are redirected to the provider or an intermediary affiliate network. The destination may use a URL parameter, cookie or similar identifier to attribute a later purchase. We may receive aggregated settlement information, but we do not receive the provider’s customer account or payment details.
The destination provider or affiliate network is responsible for its own processing after you leave Certificate Quest. The legal basis for presenting and forwarding through an affiliate link is our legitimate interest in financing the website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Technologies used on the destination website are governed by that provider’s privacy information and, where required, your consent there.
8. Contact by email
If you contact us by email, we process the information you provide to answer your request and handle follow-up questions. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where the request concerns a contract or pre-contractual measures. Otherwise, processing is based on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) or your consent where requested (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
We retain correspondence until the purpose of the enquiry has been fulfilled, you validly request deletion, or applicable retention obligations require longer storage.
9. No public accounts or comments
Public user registration and comments are disabled. Certificate Quest therefore does not intentionally collect visitor account profiles or public comment data.
10. Storage periods
Unless a more specific period is stated above, personal data is retained only until the purpose for processing no longer applies. Data will be deleted after a valid request unless contractual, security, tax, commercial or other legal grounds require continued retention.

We may update this Privacy Policy when legal requirements, providers or website functions change. The version published on this page applies.
